We're thrilled to announce that GPC has been chosen as one of ten elite firms to participate in the latest freight programme by Connected Places Catapult. This selection aligns with the recent government announcement of over £14 million in joint government and industry funding to boost innovation and working conditions in freight.

Aligning with Government Objectives

The UK government has set out ambitious goals for the freight sector, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and improved working conditions. The £14 million investment aims to pioneer new technology, enhance efficiency, and support the decarbonisation of freight transport. This initiative perfectly aligns with GPC's mission and our participation in the Connected Places Catapult programme. Specifically:

1. Innovation: Our Freight Measure software exemplifies the cutting-edge technology the government seeks to promote. It utilises advanced 3D camera technology and artificial intelligence to provide rapid, accurate freight dimensioning.

2. Efficiency Enhancement: The government's goal to improve operational efficiency in the freight sector is directly addressed by our system's ability to capture measurements in just one second, significantly faster than traditional methods.

3. Sustainability: While our software doesn't directly contribute to decarbonisation, it supports more efficient use of cargo space, potentially reducing the number of trips required and thus indirectly supporting sustainability efforts.

4. Working Conditions: By automating and simplifying the measurement process, our technology reduces manual labour for staff, minimising the risks of accidents and muscle strain associated with traditional measurement methods. This aligns with the government's focus on enhancing the work environment in the freight sector.

5. Economic Growth: As part of the £7 million Freight Innovation Fund Accelerator Programme, our participation contributes to the government's objective of strengthening the UK's supply chain and supporting job creation in the innovative technology sector.

By being part of this programme, we're actively contributing to the government's objectives of strengthening the UK's supply chain, supporting jobs, and driving sustainable growth in the sector. Our technology represents the kind of practical, impactful innovation that can help transform the freight industry in line with the government's vision.

GPC's Freight Measure: Advancing Freight Dimensioning

Our cutting-edge Freight Measure software offers unparalleled accuracy and efficiency in freight dimensioning, capturing measurements in just one second. This innovation comes at a time when the UK government is investing £1.8 million for SMEs to trial transformative technology for decarbonising freight and driving innovation in the sector.

Key Features of Freight Measure

Versatility: Measures items from small packets to oversized items up to 5m.

Irregular Item Measurement: Excels at capturing dimensions of highly irregular items.

Low Light Performance: Utilises Intel Realsense cameras for excellent performance in low-lit environments.

Multiple Object Scanning: Can measure multiple objects simultaneously.

Compatibility: Works with Windows and Android operating systems.

Why Freight Measure Stands Out

1. Accuracy with Flexibility: Our mobile option provides both precision and adaptability, with the ability to be fixed if necessary.

2. Rapid ROI: For some logistics customers, the system has paid for itself in as little as a four-week proof of concept.

3. Efficiency Boost: IAG Cargo reported a notable increase in overall productivity following the implementation of our system.

Impact on the Freight Industry

Our participation in this programme, supported by the government's £7 million Freight Innovation Fund Accelerator Programme over three years, positions GPC at the forefront of addressing key challenges in the freight sector. We're enhancing the future of logistics with technology that promises:

- Improved operational efficiency

- Enhanced accuracy in freight dimensioning

- More effective forward planning

- Significant revenue protection for our clients

As we embark on this exciting journey with Connected Places Catapult, we're committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in freight dimensioning and management.

Stay tuned for updates as we continue to innovate and shape the future of the freight industry!
