GPC Systems are proud to announce a new commercial relationship with Balfour Beatty Living Places who will be utilising our Highway Measure solution. Highway Measure is a software solution that can be easily integrated with existing systems, it is compatible with Android and Windows10.

By using our innovative 3D dimensioning solution to measure potholes on a mobile device, users have access to a greater degree of control and flexibility. The mobile version has an extended feature set, including manual adjustments, 3D capture viewer and various workflows.

Balfour Beatty are global enterprise spanning across several areas of expertise including highways services and asset management, construction, and civil engineering. They utilise their expertise in highways services to assess, improve and repair road conditions and defects. Currently their processes for dimensioning potholes or road defects are entirely manual and they are unable to get accurate depth proportions. Without precise dimensions ordering materials for the repairs can be inaccurate causing unnecessary waste in resources and finances.

Working in conjunction with GPC and using Highway Measure on a mobile device equipped with an Intel 3D realsense camera, Balfour Beatty are able to rapidly capture dimensions of a road defect. They will then utilise the data they have produced to prioritise maintenance and repair, order exact quantities of materials. The manual processes which are currently followed will be eradicated using Highway Measure.
